Nemesis Films

A few words about us
Founded in 2012,  Nemesis Films is a film production company based in Montreal born out of the urgency to create. Our goal is simple: bring bold filmmakers’ vision to the screen, no matter what – shorts or features; fiction or documentary. Since our inception, we have produced more than five feature films and 15 short films that have traveled in festivals worldwide such as Cannes, Busan, Karlovy Vary ( Nadia, Butterfly , 2020 ) Sundance ( Regret  2020;  Voyagers  2014 ), TIFF ( Whispering Breeze  2016;  Intruders  2014 ) Visions du Réel ( Mystic Mass  2014 ), SXSW ( Regret 2020;  Milk  2016 ), FNC and RIDM.

Dominique Dussault

Producer and CEO

Dominique Dussault has been a producer at Nemesis Films since 2014 and took the reins of the company as CEO in 2020.

Her second feature film, Nadia, Butterfly, directed by Pascal Plante, was an Official Selection at Cannes 2020, and screened at numerous international film festivals including Busan, Karlovy Vary and Warsaw.

Dominique has developed a well-deserved reputation as one of Canada’s most promising producers, winning the 2022 Vincent Gabriele Emerging Producer Award from the Quebec Producers’ Association, the 2021 Kevin Tierney Award from the Canadian Media Producers’ Association, and the 2019 Best Emerging Producer Award at Fantasia International Film Festival.

Her most recent production Les chambres rouges was the opening film at the 2023 Fantasia International Film Festivals where it has won five awards including the Cheval Noir Award for best feature.

Amélie Tremblay

Producer and Administrative Coordinator

With a bachelor’s degree in Cultural and Media Production and a scriptwriting certificate from UQAM, Amélie joined Nemesis as soon as she graduated where she proved herself as a production coordinator (Nadia, Butterfly; Red Wine, etc.). Since then, she’s in charge of accompanying emerging filmmakers.

Amélie is currently working on several projects at different stages of production.

Jonah Malak

Filmmaker, Co-Founder and Producer

Jonah Malak is a documentary filmmaker and content producer at Nemesis Films, which he co-founded. After studying mathematics and cinema, he dedicated his time and work to the most beautiful profession in the world: documentary filmmaking.

His films are at the junction of several disciplines and cultures, with two feature films and several short films to his credit: Mystic Mass and My Tuesdays At Catherine’s, (under the name of Karim Haroun) two anthropological documentaries on religious phenomena; Dave Not Coming Back, a fascinating caving diving story shot in South Africa and Australia. His next film, The Dignity of Our Beloved, portrays migrant life on the desert border that separates Mexico and the United States.
